(Author's note, this is written in script form.)
(The scene is out front of the school. Everyone is standing around watching Elizabeth pick the lock.)
Devon: “Come on Liz hurry up.”
Elizabeth: “Shut up! I’m trying to concentrate.”
Devon: “You’re a girl your not suppose to be able to do this stuff.”
Elizabeth: “Just shut up! I’ll yell at you later for that chauvinistic comment.”
Devon: “I’m being just being honest. Spaz down.”
Elizabeth: “Brother take care of him till I’m done.”
Jacob: “No prob. Devon shut up or I’ll kick your butt.”
Devon: “Do I look scared?”
(Jacob runs and tackles Devon they wrestle around. They jump and start fighting. Everyone gathers around them egging them on.)(Elizabeth picks the lock and opens door. Then she runs over and jumps on Devon’s back.)
Devon: “What the hell Liz?”
Elizabeth: “The door is unlocked.”
Devon: “Let’s go then.”
Elizabeth: “Hold on let me down.”
Devon: “I’ll carry you into the school.”
(Everyone walks into the school.) (Devon sets Elizabeth down by the office door.)
Elizabeth: “Give me about 2 minutes to get this unlocked, but well I’m doing that ya’ll go get toilet paper and stuff.”
Jacob: “Who’s going stay with you Liz?”
Devon: “I will.”
Elizabeth: “Ok.”
(Everyone started running away from Elizabeth and Devon.)(Camera on Elizabeth and Devon.)(Elizabeth starts trying to unlock door.)
Devon: “How did you learn to pick locks?”
Elizabeth: “My uncle taught me when I stayed with him over the summer.”
Devon: “Where’s he live?”
Elizabeth: “Georgia.”
(The lights go out.)
(30 seconds)
(The lights go back on.)
(Devon is holding on to Elizabeth.)
(They hear a scream.) (Elizabeth takes Devon’s hand and starts running toward where the scream came from.)(They run down the hall around the corner down the next hall, when they come around the second corner they see the group of their friends in a circle.)
Elizabeth: “What’s going on?”
(She’s still running toward the group.)
(Everyone turns and looks at them.)
(Elizabeth and Devon get up to the group.) (Everyone on the side of that Elizabeth walked up to moves out of her way.)(Elizabeth sees who’s on the floor.)(She runs up and kneels beside him)
(She puts her head on his chest.)Elizabeth: “He’s still breathing.”
(She lifts her head up.) (She’s crying
Elizabeth: “Jake, Jake, talk to me.”
(Jacob talks very quiet.)
Jacob: “Liz.”
Elizabeth: “I’m here bro.”
Jacob: “I love you sis.”
Elizabeth: “I love you too bro. Hold on we’ll get you out of here.”
Elizabeth: “Somebody go open those doors.” (She points.)
(Rebecca and Ava run to open the door.)
Jacob: “I was stabbed.”
Elizabeth: “Where?”
Jacob: “In the gut.”
(Elizabeth looks him over.)
Elizabeth: “You were stabbed a little higher then that too.”
Jacob: “Ya I heard the knife hit a bone.”
(Rebecca and Ava come back over next to Elizabeth.)
Ava: “We can’t get out that door is locked.”
Elizabeth: Go check the other doors. Connor go with them.”
(Rebecca, Connor, and Ava run off down the hall the camera stays on the group.)
Jacob: “Liz.”
Elizabeth: “What bro?”
Jacob: “Lean down here.”
(Jacob says something to Elizabeth.)(No one hears.)
(Elizabeth sits back.)
Elizabeth: “No Jacob.”
Jacob: “Why?”
(Elizabeth leans back down close to Jacob.) (She whispers.)
Elizabeth: “I’m not leaving you.”
Jacob: “If the person that stabbed me is still in here he could kill all of you. Save yourselves.”
(Elizabeth looks up at everybody.)
Elizabeth: “He’s right. Ya’ll leave I’ll stay here with Jacob.”
Devon: “I’ll stay with you and Jacob, Elizabeth.”
Grace: “Were classmates we should all stick together.”
Everyone Else: “She’s right.”
Grace: “We’re not leaving you Jacob.”
Jacob: “Ok.”
(Rebecca, Connor, and Ava come running up to the group.)
(Ava talks almost out of breath.)
Ava: “We checked every door on that side of the building and there all locked. We can’t get out.”
Elizabeth: “Ok well someone needs to check the doors on this side of the building.”
Devon, Connor, and Sara: “I’ll go.”
(Devon, Sara, and Connor run down the other hallway.)
(Camera stays on group.)
(The lights go out.)
(30 seconds)
(Lights go back on.)
(They hear a scream from down the hall.)
(Grace runs down the hall toward the scream.)
(Camera stays on group.)
Grace: “Elizabeth!!”
(Elizabeth whispers.)
Elizabeth: “I’ll be right back bro.”
(Elizabeth kisses him on the cheek gets up and runs toward Grace’s voice.)
(Camera is in front of her.)
(When she sees who is laying on the floor her face changes. Her jaw drops and she begins to cry.)(She runs faster to the body.) (She stops next to body and drops to her knees.)
Elizabeth: “Sara!!”
(Devon walks over and puts his arm around Elizabeth’s shoulders.) (As soon as his hand touches Elizabeth she jumps up.)
Elizabeth: “Don’t touch me! Don’t f****** touch me!”
Devon: “What’s your problem? I was trying to comfort you cause one of your best friend’s is dead.”
Elizabeth: “That’s funny cause its your fault!”
Devon: “My fault? How?”
Elizabeth: “You know what happens when the lights go out you should have protected her.”
Devon: “I tried.” (He shows her his hand that’s bleeding.)(There’s a hole right through it.) (Elizabeth takes Devon’s hand in her’s.)
Elizabeth: “What happened?”
Devon: “I thought I heard heavy breathing in front of us so I tried to grab Sara and pull her behind me but just after I got me hand around her I got stabbed. Then I kicked somebody who was standing in front of Sara.”
Elizabeth: “I’m so sorry. I was just angry.”
Devon: “It’s all good.”
(Elizabeth takes off her jacket.)
Elizabeth: “Devon, Connor will you move her to a place she’ll be safe till we get out.”
(Devon and Connor pick up Sara’s body they move her into the girl’s bathroom. Elizabeth follows as well as camera.)(They set her down.)
(Elizabeth lays her jacket over Sara’s face.) (She bows her head and folds her hands.)
(20 seconds of silence.)
(Elizabeth lifts her head and is crying silently. As everyone exits the bathroom Elizabeth grabs Devon’s hand and holds it while they walk.)
(From down the hall they hear.)
Voice (Bianca): “Elizabeth!!”
(Elizabeth starts running down the hall toward Bianca’s voice.)(She is still holding on the to Devon’s hand so he’s running after her.)
(When Elizabeth gets up next to Jacob. She lets go of Devon’s hand and drops to her knees.)(Jacob’s eyes are closed.)
Elizabeth: “Jake.”
(She lays her head on his chest looking up at his face.)(Jacob opens his eyes.)
Jacob: “Liz.”
(Elizabeth picks her head up off of Jacob’s chest.)
Elizabeth: “oh my goodness. The way they yelled I thought you were dead.”
Jacob: “I can’t die I have to take care of my baby sister.”
All the Girls: “Awwww.”
Jacob: “Can I talk to Devon alone for a second please?”
Everyone Else: “Sure.”
(Elizabeth kisses Jacob on the cheek, then Devon helps her up.)
(Everyone walks down the hall away from Jacob and Devon.)
(Camera stays on Devon and Jacob.)
Jacob: “Devon, I know Im gunna die before we get out of this school.”(Devon makes a motion to talk.) “Don’t say any thing, but since I know this is my fate I need you to promise me one thing.”Devon: “Anything ….what is it?”
Jacob: “I see the way me sister looks at you if you decide to date her promise me you wont break her heart. (Pause) “Take care of her don’t let anything happen to her.”
Devon: “I’ll take care of her I promise.”
Jacob: “I really appreciate it.”
(Pause)
Jacob: “You can call them back now.”
Devon: “Ya’ll can come back now.”
(Everyone comes back down the hall.)
(Elizabeth looks like she has stopped crying.)
(Elizabeth walks over and kneels beside Jacob.)(Elizabeth starts to cry again.)(Devon stands behind her and puts his hands on her shoulder.)
Elizabeth: “Brother, I love you.”
Jacob: “I love you too.”
(Elizabeth lays her head on his chest looking up at his face.)(Devon takes his hands off her and steps back.)
(Silence) (30 seconds)
(Elizabeth picks up her head and kisses Jacob on the cheek.)(Then she lays her head on his chest)(Jacob leans up and kisses Elizabeth’s forehead.)
(5 seconds)
(Jacob’s eyes close and he stops breathing.)
(Elizabeth lifts her head off his chest.)
Elizabeth: “We need to move him and I need a coat to cover him with.”
Devon and Connor: “I’ll move him.”
(Pause)
Devon: “I’ll give you my coat Elizabeth.”
(Devon takes off his jacket and gives it to Elizabeth.)
(Devon and Connor pick up Jacob’s body and walk toward the girl’s bathroom.)(Everyone follows them to the girl’s bathroom.)(Grace opens the door to the bathroom.) (Devon and Connor set Jacob’s body on the floor next to Sara’s.)
(Elizabeth lays the coat over Jacob’s face.) (She bows her head and grabs Devon’s hand.)(Devon bows his head.) (30 seconds)
(Elizabeth lifts up her head crying really hard silently.)
(Devon opens the door with his free hand and Elizabeth walks out.)
Elizabeth: “We need to get out of here.”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “We need to check the doors that haven’t been checked yet, but we need to stick together.”
(Devon whispers)
Devon: “Let’s walk with the girls on the inside of the group.”
(They move according to what Devon said. Elizabeth lets go of Devon’s hand. All the girls move to the inside of the group with the guys walking around them.)
(They walk down the hall that they have not been down yet.)
(Jeremy whispers in Elizabeth’s ear.) (She shakes her head no.)
(The lights go out.)
(30 seconds)
(The lights come back on.)
(Elizabeth turns around everyone so her back is to Devon.)(Devon turns around.)
Elizabeth: “Is everyone ok?”
Everyone Else: “Ya.”
Devon: “I wonder why that happened?”
Elizabeth: “Probably to scare us.”
Devon: “Ok. Let’s find away out of here.”
(They all start walking again.)
(20 seconds)
(The lights go out.)
(10 seconds)
Elizabeth: “Oh my God!”
(5 seconds)
(The lights go back on.)
(Elizabeth is on the ground, under Jeremy.)(Looks like she caught him when he fell backwards.)
Elizabeth: “He’s still breathing.”
(Devon picks Jeremy up off of Elizabeth and gently lays him on the floor next to her.)
(Elizabeth gets up quickly and kneels beside Jeremy.)
(Elizabeth is crying.)
Elizabeth: “Jeremy can you here me?”
Jeremy: “Liz is that you?”
Elizabeth: “It’s me I’m here.”
Jeremy: “Help me.”
(Elizabeth takes off her sweatshirt. Then she puts it where Jeremy was stabbed and pushes on it.)
Jeremy: “Owww.”
Elizabeth: “Im sorry it’s the only way to stop the bleeding.”
Jeremy: “I need a pen and a piece of paper.”
Grace: “I’ll go.”
(Grace runs down the hall.)
Elizabeth: “Hold on Jeremy.”
(Grace comes back.) (She sets the pen and paper next to Jeremy.)
Jeremy: “Can you help me sit up, Liz?”
(Elizabeth holds her sweatshirt against him and helps push on his back while he’s trying to sit up.)
Elizabeth: “Devon grab that notebook and pen.”
(Devon walks over grabs the notebook and pen.) (He opens the notebook and sets it on Jeremy’s leg.)(He uncaps pen and hands it to Jeremy.)
Devon: “I’ll hold the notebook while you write.”
(Jeremy writes for 30 seconds.)
Jeremy: “Devon, will you rip out that piece of paper and fold it please?”
(Devon rips the paper from the notebook and folds it.)
Jeremy: “Give it to Elizabeth, please.”
(Devon hands the piece of paper to Elizabeth.)
Jeremy: “Liz don’t open that till you’re outside this building.”
Elizabeth: “I won’t.”
Jeremy: “Liz promise me.”
Elizabeth: “I promise.”
Jeremy: “Can I lay back down now?”
(Elizabeth helps Jeremy lay back down.)
Elizabeth: “I can’t believe through everything we’ve been through we’re still friends.”
Jeremy: “We’ve been through a lot and if I had to do it all again I wouldn’t pick anyone but you to do it with.”
Elizabeth: “Me either.”
(Jeremy closes his eyes and stops breathing.)
Elizabeth: “Dev..”
(Devon and Connor pick up Jeremy.)
Elizabeth: “I need a coat.”
Grace: “I’ll give you mine.”
(Grace takes off her coat.)
(Devon and Connor carry Jeremy into girl’s bathroom and lay him next to Jacob.)
(Elizabeth takes Grace’s coat and lays it over Jeremy.)
(She takes Devon’s hand and they bow their heads.)
(20 seconds)
(Elizabeth lifts her head and they walk out of the bathroom.)
Elizabeth: “We got to get out of here.”
(She starts running down the hall.)
(Everyone runs after her.)
(Camera follows them.)
(30 seconds)
(The lights go out.)
(10 seconds)
(Scream)
(10 seconds)
(The lights come back on.)
(Elizabeth turns around.)(She scans the group.)
Elizabeth: “Where’s Grace?”
(She starts walking back toward everyone.)
Elizabeth: “Grace!”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “GRACE!!”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “D*** it Grace this isn’t funny!”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “GRACE!!!”
(Elizabeth drops to her knees, and starts to cry.)
(Devon comes up behind Grace and puts his hands on her shoulders.)
(The lights go out.)
(20 seconds)
(The lights go back on.)
(Elizabeth gets up and turns to the group.)
(Ava is lying on the ground.)
(Connor kneels beside Ava)
(Elizabeth walks over and kneels beside Ava.)
(Connor lays his head on Ava’s stomach.)
Connor: “She’s not breathing.”
(Devon walks over.)
Elizabeth: “Connor are you going to be able to move her or do you want me too?”
Connor: “I’ll be fine.”
Elizabeth: “I need a coat.”
Connor: “I’ll give you mine.”
(Connor takes off his jacket and gives it to Elizabeth.)
(Devon and Connor pick up Ava.)
(Connor and Devon walk into the bathroom. Elizabeth follows them, as well as the camera.)
(They hear a voice from down the hall.)
Elizabeth: “What the heck was that?”
Voice: “Elizabeth!”
(Elizabeth drops Connors coat and runs down the hall.)
Devon: “Elizabeth! Come back here!”
(Elizabeth keeps running.)
Devon: “D*** it, Ryan go with her.”
(Ryan runs down the hall after Elizabeth.)
(Devon and Connor put Ava in the bathroom.)
(Rebecca picks up Connor’s coat and gives it to him.)
(Connor bends over kisses Ava on the cheek and lays his coat over her.)
(The lights go out.)
(20 seconds)
(The lights come back on.)
(They hear Elizabeth scream.)
(Devon, Rebecca, Connor and Bianca run down the hall toward Elizabeth’s scream.)
(Camera follows them.)
(When they come around the corner they see Ryan and Grace on the floor and Elizabeth is kneeling between them.)
(Bianca kneels beside Ryan.)
(Bianca puts her head on his chest.)
Elizabeth: “Their both dead.”
(Connor and Devon go to pick up Grace.)
Elizabeth: “If you guys take Ryan, Rebecca and I can take Grace.)
Connor and Devon: “Ok.”
(Bianca lifts her head.)
Bianca: “Elizabeth can I put my jacket over Ryan?”
Elizabeth: “Of course.”
(Bianca gets up and starts walking down the hall.)
(Rebecca and Elizabeth pick up Grace’s body.)
(Devon and Connor pick up Ryan’s body.)
(They all walk toward the bathroom.)
Devon: “Liz I’ll give you my sweatshirt for Grace.”
Elizabeth: “Thanks.”
(Bianca opens the bathroom door.)
(She takes off her jacket.)
(Devon and Connor lay Ryan’s body next to Ava’s.)
(Elizabeth and Rebecca lay Grace’s body next to Ryan’s)
(Devon takes of his sweatshirt and gives it to Elizabeth.)
(Bianca lays her jacket over Ryan.)
(Elizabeth lays Devon’s sweatshirt over Grace.)
(They all bow their heads.)
(20 seconds.)
(They lift their heads.)
(They all walk out of the bathroom.)
(The lights go out.)
(20 seconds)
(The lights come back on.)
(Connor, Elizabeth, Bianca, and Rebecca are on the floor the guys have their hands over the girls protecting them.)
Devon and Connor: “Are you girls ok?”
Elizabeth, Bianca, and Rebecca: “I’m fine.”
(They all stand up.)
(Bianca whispers.)
Bianca: “Why don’t we try the pay phone?”
(Elizabeth whispers.)
Elizabeth: “That’s a great idea!”
(They all walk down the hall toward the pay phone.)
(10 seconds)
(Bianca picks up the phone.)
(She dials 911.)
Bianca: “It’s not working.”
(Bianca hangs up the phone.)
(The lights go out.)
(30 seconds.)
(The lights come back on.)
(Bianca and Rebecca are laying on the floor.)
(Elizabeth checks for Bianca’s pulse.)
Elizabeth: “She’s got no pulse.”
(Elizabeth gets up and checks Rebecca’ pulse.)
Elizabeth: “She’s got no pulse.”
Connor: “I can carry one of them on my own.”
Devon: “Me too.”
Connor: “Becca or Bianca?”
Devon: “Becca.”
(Connor walks over and picks up Bianca.)
(Devon walks over and picks up Rebecca.)
(Devon and Connor walk toward the bathroom.)
(Elizabeth follows them.)
(10 seconds.)
(Elizabeth opens the door to the bathroom.)
(Connor lays Bianca’s body on the floor next to Grace’s body.)
(Devon lays Rebecca’s body on the floor next to Bianca’s body.)
Elizabeth: “I don’t have anything to cover their faces with.)
(Devon and Connor both take off their white t-shirts. They still have white wife beaters on.) (They give their t-shirts to Elizabeth.)
(Elizabeth walks over and puts one over Rebecca and the other over Bianca.)
(They bow their heads. Elizabeth grabs Devon’s hand.)
(30 seconds)
(They lift their heads and walk out of the bathroom.)
(Elizabeth is still holding Devon’s hand.)
Connor: “How are we gunna get out of here?”
(Elizabeth lets go of Devon’s hand.)
Elizabeth: “I don’t know.”
(The lights go out.)
(30 seconds.)(The lights come back on.)
(Devon has his arms around Elizabeth.)
(Connor is laying on the floor.)
(Devon lets go of Elizabeth.)
(She bends down and checks his pulse.)
Elizabeth: “He has no pulse.”
(Elizabeth stands up leans herself into Devon and wraps her arms around him.)(Devon wraps his arms around her.)
(30 seconds)
(Elizabeth steps back from Devon.)
Devon: “Will you help me move him?”
(Devon bends over and grabs Connor under the arms.)(Elizabeth grabs his feet.)
(They carry him into the bathroom.) (They set him on the floor.)
(Elizabeth walks over takes her sweatshirt off of Jeremy’s stomach and lays it on Connor.)
(Elizabeth grabs Devon’s hand and they bow their heads.)
(30 seconds)
(They lift their heads and walk out of the bathroom.)
(Elizabeth is still holding Devon’s hand.)
(The lights go out.)
(20 seconds.)
(The lights come back on.)
(Elizabeth has her arms wrapped around Devon and he has his arms around her.)
(10 seconds.)
(Elizabeth pulls away from Devon and runs down the hall.)
(Devon runs after her.)
(Camera follows them.)
Devon: “Where you going?”
Elizabeth: “You’ll see.”
(30 seconds)
(Elizabeth stops at her locker.)
(Devon stops next to her.)
Devon: “Why did we stop here?”
(She opens her locker while talking.)
Elizabeth: “Hold on.”
(She pulls out a picture.)
(She shows the back to Devon while talking.)
Elizabeth: “Do you know who this is a picture of?”
Devon: “No.”
Elizabeth: “It’s a picture that makes me smile every time I look at it.”
(Devon goes to grab picture.)
(Elizabeth pulls it behind her back.)
(Devon reaches around her and grabs picture.)
(He looks at it.)
Devon: “It’s us.”
Elizabeth: “Ya, that’s the night you told me you liked me.”
Devon: “Oh ya I remember that.”
Elizabeth: “Then the next day I found out you’d been dating that cheerleader from another school.”
Devon: “That’s why.”
Elizabeth: “Why what?”
Devon: “Oh nothing.”
Elizabeth: “Whatever, tell me.”
Devon: “No.”
Elizabeth: “Please.”
Devon: “I was wondering why you quit talking to me for a while after that.”
Elizabeth: “It made me feel bad that you told me those things when you had a girlfriend.”
Devon: “That was the first time I had the guts to tell you how I felt.”
Elizabeth: “Why didn’t you tell me you had a girlfriend?”
Devon: “If you would have told me you liked me back I would have dumped her.”
Elizabeth: “that’s not the point and you know it.”
Devon: “That was a year ago what does it matter now?”
Elizabeth: “I still like you. That’s what it matters.”
Devon: “You’ve acted like you hated me since I told you I liked you.”
(Elizabeth shuts her locker and steps back 3 three steps.)
Elizabeth: “I didn’t want you to hurt me again.”
Devon: “I’m sorry if I ever hurt you.”
(Elizabeth doesn’t say anything she just puts her head down.)
(10 seconds)
(Devon walks up to Elizabeth and lifts up her chin.)(She’s crying.)
Devon: “Will you be my girlfriend?”
Elizabeth: “If we get out of here.”
Devon: “Don’t say that, we will.”
(Devon wraps his arms around Elizabeth, she puts her arms around him and they hug.)
(20 seconds)
(Devon moves his face back but is still hugging Elizabeth.)
(Devon moves forward again and kisses Elizabeth.)
(3 seconds)
(Elizabeth pulls back and stops hugging Devon.)
Devon: “What?”
Elizabeth: “We can’t do anything.”
Devon: “Why not?”
Elizabeth: “Cause that would be wrong.”
Devon: “It could be our last night alive.”
Elizabeth: “You said two minutes ago we were going to get out of here alive.”
Devon: “I lied ok. I’m really scared and I was just trying to be strong for you.”
Elizabeth: “You’re so darn cute!”
Devon: “Whatever.”
(Elizabeth puts out her arms to hug Devon.)
(Devon walks over, hugs Elizabeth and picks her up.)
Elizabeth: “So this is what its like?”
Devon: “What?”
Elizabeth: “To be your girlfriend.”
(Devon kisses Elizabeth.)
(He walks over to the janitor’s closet while their kissing.)(He sets Elizabeth down.) (He opens door and they walk in.) (He closes door.)
(Fade Out)
(Fade In)
(The closet door opens. Elizabeth and Devon walk out of the closet.)
(They walk down the hall)
(20 seconds)
Devon: “Do you have a piece of paper and a pen?”
Elizabeth: “Ya in my locker.”
(Elizabeth turns around.)
(Devon follows her.)
(Elizabeth opens her locker.)
(She hands a notebook and pen to Devon.)
(She also takes her jacket out of her locker and puts it on.)
Devon: “We need to sit down so I can write something.”
Elizabeth: “We can sit against the lockers.”
(Devon sits down against the lockers.)
(Elizabeth sits down next to Devon.)
(Devon opens the notebook and starts writing.)
(30 seconds)
Elizabeth: “What are you writing?”
Devon: “You’ll see.”
(Devon keeps writing.)
(2 minutes)
(Devon rips out the piece of paper and folds it.)
Devon: “Put this in your pocket and don’t read it till your out of the school.”
Elizabeth: “Ok.”
Devon: “Promise me Elizabeth.”
Elizabeth: “I promise Devon.”
(Devon hands Elizabeth the piece of paper. She puts it in her pocket.)
(Devon stands up and helps Elizabeth up.)
(Devon hands Elizabeth the notebook and pen.)
(Elizabeth throws notebook on floor next to locker and puts the pen in her pocket.)
(Devon takes Elizabeth’s hand.)
(They walk down the hall.)
Elizabeth: “Let’s go sit on the bench in the lobby.”
Devon: “Ok.”
(They walk to the lobby and sit on the bench.)
Devon: “I’m glad you’re my girlfriend.”
Elizabeth: “Me too.”
(Devon kisses Elizabeth.)
(While their kissing.)
(The lights go out.)
(40 seconds.)
(The lights come back on.)
(Devon’s head is on Elizabeth’s shoulder.)(He has a knife sticking out of his back.)
(Elizabeth is crying silently.)(She checks his pulse.) (She slides over on the bench while holding his head. She lays it gently on the bench.) (Elizabeth stands up.)(She takes off her coat.)(She bends down and kisses his cheek.) (Then she lays her coat over him.) (She bows her head and folds her hands.)

(She lifts her head and sees that the door is open.)(She runs through both sets of doors and outside.)
(Camera follows her.)
(She starts running down the road.)
(She sees someone running toward her.)

Elizabeth: “Izzabella!!”
Voice (Izzabella): “Elizabeth!”
Elizabeth & Izzabella: “What happened?!”
(They stop in front of each other.)
Elizabeth & Izzabella: “Their dead.”
Elizabeth & Izzabella: “Who??”
(Elizabeth and Izzabella talk at same time.)
Izzabella: “Mom, Dad, Lilly, Michael, Martina, James, Jennifer, and Chris.”
Elizabeth: “Devon, Jacob, Jeremy, Sara, Grace, Connor, Bianca, Ryan, Ava, and Rebecca.”
Elizabeth & Izzabella: “Did you call the cops?”
Elizabeth & Izzabella: “No.”
Elizabeth: “My cell is in the car.”
(Elizabeth takes off running toward her car.)(Izzabella follows her.)(Camera follows them.) (Elizabeth gets to her car.) (She starts frantically checking her pockets.) (Izzabella gets to the car.)
Izzabella: “Can’t find your keys?”
Elizabeth: “No.”
(Elizabeth looks in the window of her car.)
Elizabeth: “D*** it! They’re in there!”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “Back up.”
(Izzabella steps back five steps.)
(Elizabeth punches the window.) (It breaks.) (She reaches in and pulls the handle.)(She opens door.) (She reaches in the car and grabs her phone.)
Izzabella: “I thought you could pick locks?”
Elizabeth: “There’s no time for that.”
(Elizabeth dials 911.)
Elizabeth: “My name is Elizabeth Walker and Im standing outside Rocky Hill High School where 10 of my friends have been killed.”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “Yes, my sister.”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “No she came from our house down the street where my mom. Dad and six of my siblings were killed.”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “Ok. Thank you.”
(She hangs up phone and throws it into her car.)
Elizabeth: “They’ll be right here.”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “You’ll have to take a cop or two to our house.”
Izzabella: “ok.”
(Pause)
Izzabella: “What if they think we did it?”
Elizabeth: “Just tell them the truth.”
(Elizabeth is looks into Izzabella’s eyes.)
Elizabeth: “Your drunk aren’t you?”
Izzabella: “No.”
Elizabeth: “Don’t lie to me!”
Izzabella: “Fine! I’ am, but don’t tell the cops.”
Elizabeth: “I won’t.”
(The cops pull in.)
(Fade out.)
(Fade in.)
(Elizabeth is sitting on the trunk of her car.)
(She has her head down.)
(She reaches in her back pocket and pulls out two pieces of folded paper.)
(She sets on the car, and opens the other.)
(She starts crying silently.)
(Elizabeth reads it aloud, quietly.)
Elizabeth: “Dearest Elizabeth. We’ve been friends for a long time. I know I would have never made it this far without you. You are my rock. I’m writing this because I know Im going to die and there is a few things I need you to take care of. Number 1 I have a savings account that has about 25 grand in it you need to take that money and pay for my funeral. DON’T let my mom pay for anything!! Number 2 I give you everything I own, which includes my car, 4-wheeler, snowmobile, and other things. (Just show this to my parents they will be happy to fulfill my wishes.) Number 3 I have always cared for you more then you’ll ever know. Love always Jeremy Michael Harris.”
(Elizabeth folds the note up and puts it in her pocket.)(Then she opens the other note.)
(She reads it out loud, quietly.)
Elizabeth: “Dear Elizabeth. Im writing you this letter to tell you some things. 1st I’m leaving everything I own to you. I have a house on a piece of land north of town I want you to move in. 2nd there is a ring in my top dresser drawer. My grandma told me to give it to the girl I love. I want you to have it. 3rd take care of yourself and remember I will always watch over you. Love Always Devon Andrew Williams.”
(Izzabella walks over and stands in front of Elizabeth.)
Izzabella: “Let’s go sis.”
(2 months later……..)
(Elizabeth is sitting in her house watching T.V.)
(Camera on T.V.)
(Reporter comes on.)
Reporter: “Although it has been 2 months since the tragic killings of 10 seniors and the family of the girl that survived the school killings another witness has come forward.”
(Pause)
Reporter: “I was informed by the young lady that survived and her sister that there was no one else that survived.”
Emma: “Well im not a witness then I guess.”
Reporter: “What are you then?”
Emma: “I’m the murderer.”
(The cops rush over and hand cuff Emma.)
Reporter: “Why did you do it?”
Emma: “Because last year the morning after junior prom there was an accident in which my mother, father, and five siblings were killed by a drunk driver.”
Reporter: “Did one of the people you killed do it?”
Emma: “No, Elizabeth walker did, and I wanted her to know how it felt to lose everyone she cared about. Like she did to me.”
Devon: “Come on Liz hurry up.”
Elizabeth: “Shut up! I’m trying to concentrate.”
Devon: “You’re a girl your not suppose to be able to do this stuff.”
Elizabeth: “Just shut up! I’ll yell at you later for that chauvinistic comment.”
Devon: “I’m being just being honest. Spaz down.”
Elizabeth: “Brother take care of him till I’m done.”
Jacob: “No prob. Devon shut up or I’ll kick your butt.”
Devon: “Do I look scared?”
(Jacob runs and tackles Devon they wrestle around. They jump and start fighting. Everyone gathers around them egging them on.)(Elizabeth picks the lock and opens door. Then she runs over and jumps on Devon’s back.)
Devon: “What the hell Liz?”
Elizabeth: “The door is unlocked.”
Devon: “Let’s go then.”
Elizabeth: “Hold on let me down.”
Devon: “I’ll carry you into the school.”
(Everyone walks into the school.) (Devon sets Elizabeth down by the office door.)
Elizabeth: “Give me about 2 minutes to get this unlocked, but well I’m doing that ya’ll go get toilet paper and stuff.”
Jacob: “Who’s going stay with you Liz?”
Devon: “I will.”
Elizabeth: “Ok.”
(Everyone started running away from Elizabeth and Devon.)(Camera on Elizabeth and Devon.)(Elizabeth starts trying to unlock door.)
Devon: “How did you learn to pick locks?”
Elizabeth: “My uncle taught me when I stayed with him over the summer.”
Devon: “Where’s he live?”
Elizabeth: “Georgia.”
(The lights go out.)
(30 seconds)
(The lights go back on.)
(Devon is holding on to Elizabeth.)
(They hear a scream.) (Elizabeth takes Devon’s hand and starts running toward where the scream came from.)(They run down the hall around the corner down the next hall, when they come around the second corner they see the group of their friends in a circle.)
Elizabeth: “What’s going on?”
(She’s still running toward the group.)
(Everyone turns and looks at them.)
(Elizabeth and Devon get up to the group.) (Everyone on the side of that Elizabeth walked up to moves out of her way.)(Elizabeth sees who’s on the floor.)(She runs up and kneels beside him)
(She puts her head on his chest.)Elizabeth: “He’s still breathing.”
(She lifts her head up.) (She’s crying
Elizabeth: “Jake, Jake, talk to me.”
(Jacob talks very quiet.)
Jacob: “Liz.”
Elizabeth: “I’m here bro.”
Jacob: “I love you sis.”
Elizabeth: “I love you too bro. Hold on we’ll get you out of here.”
Elizabeth: “Somebody go open those doors.” (She points.)
(Rebecca and Ava run to open the door.)
Jacob: “I was stabbed.”
Elizabeth: “Where?”
Jacob: “In the gut.”
(Elizabeth looks him over.)
Elizabeth: “You were stabbed a little higher then that too.”
Jacob: “Ya I heard the knife hit a bone.”
(Rebecca and Ava come back over next to Elizabeth.)
Ava: “We can’t get out that door is locked.”
Elizabeth: Go check the other doors. Connor go with them.”
(Rebecca, Connor, and Ava run off down the hall the camera stays on the group.)
Jacob: “Liz.”
Elizabeth: “What bro?”
Jacob: “Lean down here.”
(Jacob says something to Elizabeth.)(No one hears.)
(Elizabeth sits back.)
Elizabeth: “No Jacob.”
Jacob: “Why?”
(Elizabeth leans back down close to Jacob.) (She whispers.)
Elizabeth: “I’m not leaving you.”
Jacob: “If the person that stabbed me is still in here he could kill all of you. Save yourselves.”
(Elizabeth looks up at everybody.)
Elizabeth: “He’s right. Ya’ll leave I’ll stay here with Jacob.”
Devon: “I’ll stay with you and Jacob, Elizabeth.”
Grace: “Were classmates we should all stick together.”
Everyone Else: “She’s right.”
Grace: “We’re not leaving you Jacob.”
Jacob: “Ok.”
(Rebecca, Connor, and Ava come running up to the group.)
(Ava talks almost out of breath.)
Ava: “We checked every door on that side of the building and there all locked. We can’t get out.”
Elizabeth: “Ok well someone needs to check the doors on this side of the building.”
Devon, Connor, and Sara: “I’ll go.”
(Devon, Sara, and Connor run down the other hallway.)
(Camera stays on group.)
(The lights go out.)
(30 seconds)
(Lights go back on.)
(They hear a scream from down the hall.)
(Grace runs down the hall toward the scream.)
(Camera stays on group.)
Grace: “Elizabeth!!”
(Elizabeth whispers.)
Elizabeth: “I’ll be right back bro.”
(Elizabeth kisses him on the cheek gets up and runs toward Grace’s voice.)
(Camera is in front of her.)
(When she sees who is laying on the floor her face changes. Her jaw drops and she begins to cry.)(She runs faster to the body.) (She stops next to body and drops to her knees.)
Elizabeth: “Sara!!”
(Devon walks over and puts his arm around Elizabeth’s shoulders.) (As soon as his hand touches Elizabeth she jumps up.)
Elizabeth: “Don’t touch me! Don’t f****** touch me!”
Devon: “What’s your problem? I was trying to comfort you cause one of your best friend’s is dead.”
Elizabeth: “That’s funny cause its your fault!”
Devon: “My fault? How?”
Elizabeth: “You know what happens when the lights go out you should have protected her.”
Devon: “I tried.” (He shows her his hand that’s bleeding.)(There’s a hole right through it.) (Elizabeth takes Devon’s hand in her’s.)
Elizabeth: “What happened?”
Devon: “I thought I heard heavy breathing in front of us so I tried to grab Sara and pull her behind me but just after I got me hand around her I got stabbed. Then I kicked somebody who was standing in front of Sara.”
Elizabeth: “I’m so sorry. I was just angry.”
Devon: “It’s all good.”
(Elizabeth takes off her jacket.)
Elizabeth: “Devon, Connor will you move her to a place she’ll be safe till we get out.”
(Devon and Connor pick up Sara’s body they move her into the girl’s bathroom. Elizabeth follows as well as camera.)(They set her down.)
(Elizabeth lays her jacket over Sara’s face.) (She bows her head and folds her hands.)
(20 seconds of silence.)
(Elizabeth lifts her head and is crying silently. As everyone exits the bathroom Elizabeth grabs Devon’s hand and holds it while they walk.)
(From down the hall they hear.)
Voice (Bianca): “Elizabeth!!”
(Elizabeth starts running down the hall toward Bianca’s voice.)(She is still holding on the to Devon’s hand so he’s running after her.)
(When Elizabeth gets up next to Jacob. She lets go of Devon’s hand and drops to her knees.)(Jacob’s eyes are closed.)
Elizabeth: “Jake.”
(She lays her head on his chest looking up at his face.)(Jacob opens his eyes.)
Jacob: “Liz.”
(Elizabeth picks her head up off of Jacob’s chest.)
Elizabeth: “oh my goodness. The way they yelled I thought you were dead.”
Jacob: “I can’t die I have to take care of my baby sister.”
All the Girls: “Awwww.”
Jacob: “Can I talk to Devon alone for a second please?”
Everyone Else: “Sure.”
(Elizabeth kisses Jacob on the cheek, then Devon helps her up.)
(Everyone walks down the hall away from Jacob and Devon.)
(Camera stays on Devon and Jacob.)
Jacob: “Devon, I know Im gunna die before we get out of this school.”(Devon makes a motion to talk.) “Don’t say any thing, but since I know this is my fate I need you to promise me one thing.”Devon: “Anything ….what is it?”
Jacob: “I see the way me sister looks at you if you decide to date her promise me you wont break her heart. (Pause) “Take care of her don’t let anything happen to her.”
Devon: “I’ll take care of her I promise.”
Jacob: “I really appreciate it.”
(Pause)
Jacob: “You can call them back now.”
Devon: “Ya’ll can come back now.”
(Everyone comes back down the hall.)
(Elizabeth looks like she has stopped crying.)
(Elizabeth walks over and kneels beside Jacob.)(Elizabeth starts to cry again.)(Devon stands behind her and puts his hands on her shoulder.)
Elizabeth: “Brother, I love you.”
Jacob: “I love you too.”
(Elizabeth lays her head on his chest looking up at his face.)(Devon takes his hands off her and steps back.)
(Silence) (30 seconds)
(Elizabeth picks up her head and kisses Jacob on the cheek.)(Then she lays her head on his chest)(Jacob leans up and kisses Elizabeth’s forehead.)
(5 seconds)
(Jacob’s eyes close and he stops breathing.)
(Elizabeth lifts her head off his chest.)
Elizabeth: “We need to move him and I need a coat to cover him with.”
Devon and Connor: “I’ll move him.”
(Pause)
Devon: “I’ll give you my coat Elizabeth.”
(Devon takes off his jacket and gives it to Elizabeth.)
(Devon and Connor pick up Jacob’s body and walk toward the girl’s bathroom.)(Everyone follows them to the girl’s bathroom.)(Grace opens the door to the bathroom.) (Devon and Connor set Jacob’s body on the floor next to Sara’s.)
(Elizabeth lays the coat over Jacob’s face.) (She bows her head and grabs Devon’s hand.)(Devon bows his head.) (30 seconds)
(Elizabeth lifts up her head crying really hard silently.)
(Devon opens the door with his free hand and Elizabeth walks out.)
Elizabeth: “We need to get out of here.”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “We need to check the doors that haven’t been checked yet, but we need to stick together.”
(Devon whispers)
Devon: “Let’s walk with the girls on the inside of the group.”
(They move according to what Devon said. Elizabeth lets go of Devon’s hand. All the girls move to the inside of the group with the guys walking around them.)
(They walk down the hall that they have not been down yet.)
(Jeremy whispers in Elizabeth’s ear.) (She shakes her head no.)
(The lights go out.)
(30 seconds)
(The lights come back on.)
(Elizabeth turns around everyone so her back is to Devon.)(Devon turns around.)
Elizabeth: “Is everyone ok?”
Everyone Else: “Ya.”
Devon: “I wonder why that happened?”
Elizabeth: “Probably to scare us.”
Devon: “Ok. Let’s find away out of here.”
(They all start walking again.)

(The lights go out.)

Elizabeth: “Oh my God!”
(5 seconds)
(The lights go back on.)
(Elizabeth is on the ground, under Jeremy.)(Looks like she caught him when he fell backwards.)
Elizabeth: “He’s still breathing.”
(Devon picks Jeremy up off of Elizabeth and gently lays him on the floor next to her.)
(Elizabeth gets up quickly and kneels beside Jeremy.)
(Elizabeth is crying.)
Elizabeth: “Jeremy can you here me?”
Jeremy: “Liz is that you?”
Elizabeth: “It’s me I’m here.”
Jeremy: “Help me.”
(Elizabeth takes off her sweatshirt. Then she puts it where Jeremy was stabbed and pushes on it.)
Jeremy: “Owww.”
Elizabeth: “Im sorry it’s the only way to stop the bleeding.”
Jeremy: “I need a pen and a piece of paper.”
Grace: “I’ll go.”
(Grace runs down the hall.)
Elizabeth: “Hold on Jeremy.”
(Grace comes back.) (She sets the pen and paper next to Jeremy.)
Jeremy: “Can you help me sit up, Liz?”
(Elizabeth holds her sweatshirt against him and helps push on his back while he’s trying to sit up.)
Elizabeth: “Devon grab that notebook and pen.”
(Devon walks over grabs the notebook and pen.) (He opens the notebook and sets it on Jeremy’s leg.)(He uncaps pen and hands it to Jeremy.)
Devon: “I’ll hold the notebook while you write.”
(Jeremy writes for 30 seconds.)
Jeremy: “Devon, will you rip out that piece of paper and fold it please?”
(Devon rips the paper from the notebook and folds it.)
Jeremy: “Give it to Elizabeth, please.”
(Devon hands the piece of paper to Elizabeth.)
Jeremy: “Liz don’t open that till you’re outside this building.”
Elizabeth: “I won’t.”
Jeremy: “Liz promise me.”
Elizabeth: “I promise.”
Jeremy: “Can I lay back down now?”
(Elizabeth helps Jeremy lay back down.)
Elizabeth: “I can’t believe through everything we’ve been through we’re still friends.”
Jeremy: “We’ve been through a lot and if I had to do it all again I wouldn’t pick anyone but you to do it with.”
Elizabeth: “Me either.”
(Jeremy closes his eyes and stops breathing.)
Elizabeth: “Dev..”
(Devon and Connor pick up Jeremy.)
Elizabeth: “I need a coat.”
Grace: “I’ll give you mine.”
(Grace takes off her coat.)
(Devon and Connor carry Jeremy into girl’s bathroom and lay him next to Jacob.)
(Elizabeth takes Grace’s coat and lays it over Jeremy.)
(She takes Devon’s hand and they bow their heads.)

(Elizabeth lifts her head and they walk out of the bathroom.)
Elizabeth: “We got to get out of here.”
(She starts running down the hall.)

(She starts walking back toward everyone.)

Elizabeth: “D*** it Grace this isn’t funny!”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “GRACE!!!”
(Elizabeth drops to her knees, and starts to cry.)
(Devon comes up behind Grace and puts his hands on her shoulders.)
(The lights go out.)

(Elizabeth gets up and turns to the group.)
(Ava is lying on the ground.)
(Connor kneels beside Ava)
(Elizabeth walks over and kneels beside Ava.)
(Connor lays his head on Ava’s stomach.)
Connor: “She’s not breathing.”
(Devon walks over.)
Elizabeth: “Connor are you going to be able to move her or do you want me too?”
Connor: “I’ll be fine.”
Elizabeth: “I need a coat.”
Connor: “I’ll give you mine.”
(Connor takes off his jacket and gives it to Elizabeth.)
(Devon and Connor pick up Ava.)
(Connor and Devon walk into the bathroom. Elizabeth follows them, as well as the camera.)
(They hear a voice from down the hall.)
Elizabeth: “What the heck was that?”
Voice: “Elizabeth!”
(Elizabeth drops Connors coat and runs down the hall.)
Devon: “Elizabeth! Come back here!”
(Elizabeth keeps running.)
Devon: “D*** it, Ryan go with her.”
(Ryan runs down the hall after Elizabeth.)
(Devon and Connor put Ava in the bathroom.)
(Rebecca picks up Connor’s coat and gives it to him.)
(Connor bends over kisses Ava on the cheek and lays his coat over her.)
(The lights go out.)

(They hear Elizabeth scream.)
(Devon, Rebecca, Connor and Bianca run down the hall toward Elizabeth’s scream.)

(When they come around the corner they see Ryan and Grace on the floor and Elizabeth is kneeling between them.)

Elizabeth: “Their both dead.”
(Connor and Devon go to pick up Grace.)
Elizabeth: “If you guys take Ryan, Rebecca and I can take Grace.)
Connor and Devon: “Ok.”
(Bianca lifts her head.)
Bianca: “Elizabeth can I put my jacket over Ryan?”
Elizabeth: “Of course.”
(Bianca gets up and starts walking down the hall.)
(Rebecca and Elizabeth pick up Grace’s body.)
(Devon and Connor pick up Ryan’s body.)
(They all walk toward the bathroom.)
Devon: “Liz I’ll give you my sweatshirt for Grace.”
Elizabeth: “Thanks.”
(Bianca opens the bathroom door.)
(She takes off her jacket.)
(Devon and Connor lay Ryan’s body next to Ava’s.)
(Elizabeth and Rebecca lay Grace’s body next to Ryan’s)
(Devon takes of his sweatshirt and gives it to Elizabeth.)
(Bianca lays her jacket over Ryan.)
(Elizabeth lays Devon’s sweatshirt over Grace.)

(They all stand up.)

Bianca: “Why don’t we try the pay phone?”
(Elizabeth whispers.)
Elizabeth: “That’s a great idea!”
(They all walk down the hall toward the pay phone.)

(Bianca picks up the phone.)
(She dials 911.)
Bianca: “It’s not working.”
(Bianca hangs up the phone.)
(The lights go out.)

(Bianca and Rebecca are laying on the floor.)
(Elizabeth checks for Bianca’s pulse.)
Elizabeth: “She’s got no pulse.”
(Elizabeth gets up and checks Rebecca’ pulse.)
Elizabeth: “She’s got no pulse.”
Connor: “I can carry one of them on my own.”
Devon: “Me too.”
Connor: “Becca or Bianca?”
Devon: “Becca.”
(Connor walks over and picks up Bianca.)
(Devon walks over and picks up Rebecca.)
(Devon and Connor walk toward the bathroom.)
(Elizabeth follows them.)

(Connor lays Bianca’s body on the floor next to Grace’s body.)

Elizabeth: “I don’t have anything to cover their faces with.)
(Devon and Connor both take off their white t-shirts. They still have white wife beaters on.) (They give their t-shirts to Elizabeth.)
(Elizabeth walks over and puts one over Rebecca and the other over Bianca.)
(They bow their heads. Elizabeth grabs Devon’s hand.)

(They lift their heads and walk out of the bathroom.)

Connor: “How are we gunna get out of here?”
(Elizabeth lets go of Devon’s hand.)

(She bends down and checks his pulse.)

(They carry him into the bathroom.) (They set him on the floor.)
(Elizabeth walks over takes her sweatshirt off of Jeremy’s stomach and lays it on Connor.)
(Elizabeth grabs Devon’s hand and they bow their heads.)

(She opens her locker while talking.)
Elizabeth: “Hold on.”
(She pulls out a picture.)
(She shows the back to Devon while talking.)
Elizabeth: “Do you know who this is a picture of?”
Devon: “No.”
Elizabeth: “It’s a picture that makes me smile every time I look at it.”
(Devon goes to grab picture.)
(Elizabeth pulls it behind her back.)
(Devon reaches around her and grabs picture.)
(He looks at it.)
Devon: “It’s us.”
Elizabeth: “Ya, that’s the night you told me you liked me.”
Devon: “Oh ya I remember that.”
Elizabeth: “Then the next day I found out you’d been dating that cheerleader from another school.”
Devon: “That’s why.”
Elizabeth: “Why what?”
Devon: “Oh nothing.”
Elizabeth: “Whatever, tell me.”
Devon: “No.”
Elizabeth: “Please.”
Devon: “I was wondering why you quit talking to me for a while after that.”
Elizabeth: “It made me feel bad that you told me those things when you had a girlfriend.”
Devon: “That was the first time I had the guts to tell you how I felt.”
Elizabeth: “Why didn’t you tell me you had a girlfriend?”
Devon: “If you would have told me you liked me back I would have dumped her.”
Elizabeth: “that’s not the point and you know it.”
Devon: “That was a year ago what does it matter now?”
Elizabeth: “I still like you. That’s what it matters.”
Devon: “You’ve acted like you hated me since I told you I liked you.”
(Elizabeth shuts her locker and steps back 3 three steps.)
Elizabeth: “I didn’t want you to hurt me again.”
Devon: “I’m sorry if I ever hurt you.”
(Elizabeth doesn’t say anything she just puts her head down.)
(10 seconds)
(Devon walks up to Elizabeth and lifts up her chin.)(She’s crying.)
Devon: “Will you be my girlfriend?”
Elizabeth: “If we get out of here.”
Devon: “Don’t say that, we will.”
(Devon wraps his arms around Elizabeth, she puts her arms around him and they hug.)
(20 seconds)
(Devon moves his face back but is still hugging Elizabeth.)
(Devon moves forward again and kisses Elizabeth.)
(3 seconds)
(Elizabeth pulls back and stops hugging Devon.)
Devon: “What?”
Elizabeth: “We can’t do anything.”
Devon: “Why not?”
Elizabeth: “Cause that would be wrong.”
Devon: “It could be our last night alive.”
Elizabeth: “You said two minutes ago we were going to get out of here alive.”
Devon: “I lied ok. I’m really scared and I was just trying to be strong for you.”
Elizabeth: “You’re so darn cute!”
Devon: “Whatever.”
(Elizabeth puts out her arms to hug Devon.)
(Devon walks over, hugs Elizabeth and picks her up.)
Elizabeth: “So this is what its like?”
Devon: “What?”
Elizabeth: “To be your girlfriend.”
(Devon kisses Elizabeth.)
(He walks over to the janitor’s closet while their kissing.)(He sets Elizabeth down.) (He opens door and they walk in.) (He closes door.)

(The closet door opens. Elizabeth and Devon walk out of the closet.)
(They walk down the hall)
(20 seconds)
Devon: “Do you have a piece of paper and a pen?”
Elizabeth: “Ya in my locker.”
(Elizabeth turns around.)
(Devon follows her.)
(Elizabeth opens her locker.)
(She hands a notebook and pen to Devon.)
(She also takes her jacket out of her locker and puts it on.)
Devon: “We need to sit down so I can write something.”
Elizabeth: “We can sit against the lockers.”
(Devon sits down against the lockers.)
(Elizabeth sits down next to Devon.)
(Devon opens the notebook and starts writing.)
(30 seconds)
Elizabeth: “What are you writing?”
Devon: “You’ll see.”
(Devon keeps writing.)
(2 minutes)
(Devon rips out the piece of paper and folds it.)
Devon: “Put this in your pocket and don’t read it till your out of the school.”
Elizabeth: “Ok.”
Devon: “Promise me Elizabeth.”
Elizabeth: “I promise Devon.”
(Devon hands Elizabeth the piece of paper. She puts it in her pocket.)
(Devon stands up and helps Elizabeth up.)
(Devon hands Elizabeth the notebook and pen.)
(Elizabeth throws notebook on floor next to locker and puts the pen in her pocket.)
(Devon takes Elizabeth’s hand.)
(They walk down the hall.)
Elizabeth: “Let’s go sit on the bench in the lobby.”
Devon: “Ok.”
(They walk to the lobby and sit on the bench.)
Devon: “I’m glad you’re my girlfriend.”
Elizabeth: “Me too.”
(Devon kisses Elizabeth.)
(While their kissing.)
(The lights go out.)
(40 seconds.)
(The lights come back on.)
(Devon’s head is on Elizabeth’s shoulder.)(He has a knife sticking out of his back.)
(Elizabeth is crying silently.)(She checks his pulse.) (She slides over on the bench while holding his head. She lays it gently on the bench.) (Elizabeth stands up.)(She takes off her coat.)(She bends down and kisses his cheek.) (Then she lays her coat over him.) (She bows her head and folds her hands.)
(30 seconds.)
(She lifts her head and sees that the door is open.)(She runs through both sets of doors and outside.)
(Camera follows her.)
(She starts running down the road.)
(She sees someone running toward her.)
(10 seconds)
Elizabeth: “Izzabella!!”
Voice (Izzabella): “Elizabeth!”
Elizabeth & Izzabella: “What happened?!”
(They stop in front of each other.)
Elizabeth & Izzabella: “Their dead.”
Elizabeth & Izzabella: “Who??”
(Elizabeth and Izzabella talk at same time.)
Izzabella: “Mom, Dad, Lilly, Michael, Martina, James, Jennifer, and Chris.”
Elizabeth: “Devon, Jacob, Jeremy, Sara, Grace, Connor, Bianca, Ryan, Ava, and Rebecca.”
Elizabeth & Izzabella: “Did you call the cops?”
Elizabeth & Izzabella: “No.”
Elizabeth: “My cell is in the car.”
(Elizabeth takes off running toward her car.)(Izzabella follows her.)(Camera follows them.) (Elizabeth gets to her car.) (She starts frantically checking her pockets.) (Izzabella gets to the car.)
Izzabella: “Can’t find your keys?”
Elizabeth: “No.”
(Elizabeth looks in the window of her car.)
Elizabeth: “D*** it! They’re in there!”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “Back up.”
(Izzabella steps back five steps.)
(Elizabeth punches the window.) (It breaks.) (She reaches in and pulls the handle.)(She opens door.) (She reaches in the car and grabs her phone.)
Izzabella: “I thought you could pick locks?”
Elizabeth: “There’s no time for that.”
(Elizabeth dials 911.)
Elizabeth: “My name is Elizabeth Walker and Im standing outside Rocky Hill High School where 10 of my friends have been killed.”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “Yes, my sister.”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “No she came from our house down the street where my mom. Dad and six of my siblings were killed.”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “Ok. Thank you.”
(She hangs up phone and throws it into her car.)
Elizabeth: “They’ll be right here.”
(Pause)
Elizabeth: “You’ll have to take a cop or two to our house.”
Izzabella: “ok.”
(Pause)
Izzabella: “What if they think we did it?”
Elizabeth: “Just tell them the truth.”
(Elizabeth is looks into Izzabella’s eyes.)
Elizabeth: “Your drunk aren’t you?”
Izzabella: “No.”
Elizabeth: “Don’t lie to me!”
Izzabella: “Fine! I’ am, but don’t tell the cops.”
Elizabeth: “I won’t.”
(The cops pull in.)

(Elizabeth is sitting on the trunk of her car.)
(She has her head down.)
(She reaches in her back pocket and pulls out two pieces of folded paper.)
(She sets on the car, and opens the other.)
(She starts crying silently.)
(Elizabeth reads it aloud, quietly.)
Elizabeth: “Dearest Elizabeth. We’ve been friends for a long time. I know I would have never made it this far without you. You are my rock. I’m writing this because I know Im going to die and there is a few things I need you to take care of. Number 1 I have a savings account that has about 25 grand in it you need to take that money and pay for my funeral. DON’T let my mom pay for anything!! Number 2 I give you everything I own, which includes my car, 4-wheeler, snowmobile, and other things. (Just show this to my parents they will be happy to fulfill my wishes.) Number 3 I have always cared for you more then you’ll ever know. Love always Jeremy Michael Harris.”
(Elizabeth folds the note up and puts it in her pocket.)(Then she opens the other note.)
(She reads it out loud, quietly.)
Elizabeth: “Dear Elizabeth. Im writing you this letter to tell you some things. 1st I’m leaving everything I own to you. I have a house on a piece of land north of town I want you to move in. 2nd there is a ring in my top dresser drawer. My grandma told me to give it to the girl I love. I want you to have it. 3rd take care of yourself and remember I will always watch over you. Love Always Devon Andrew Williams.”
(Izzabella walks over and stands in front of Elizabeth.)
Izzabella: “Let’s go sis.”
(2 months later……..)
(Elizabeth is sitting in her house watching T.V.)
(Camera on T.V.)
(Reporter comes on.)
Reporter: “Although it has been 2 months since the tragic killings of 10 seniors and the family of the girl that survived the school killings another witness has come forward.”
(Pause)
Reporter: “I was informed by the young lady that survived and her sister that there was no one else that survived.”
Emma: “Well im not a witness then I guess.”
Reporter: “What are you then?”
Emma: “I’m the murderer.”
(The cops rush over and hand cuff Emma.)
Reporter: “Why did you do it?”
Emma: “Because last year the morning after junior prom there was an accident in which my mother, father, and five siblings were killed by a drunk driver.”
Reporter: “Did one of the people you killed do it?”
Emma: “No, Elizabeth walker did, and I wanted her to know how it felt to lose everyone she cared about. Like she did to me.”
(The camera turns to Elizabeth holding a pregnacy test.)
Elizabeth: "I knew it would be positive."
